Guide to the Ragusa province

The province of Ragusa covers an area of 1,614 sq.km and has a long coastline stretching for 85 kilometres. The rest of the area borders the province of Caltanissetta to the west, the province of Catania to the north west and the province of Siracusa to the south east. The northern stretch of the province is dominated by the Hyblaean Mountain Range with the highest peak being Monte Lauro at 1010 metres. Around two thirds of the province is hilly with the rest being plains in the west or coastal.
