NANTO, VICENZA PROVINCE

Nanto is an interesting community located in the Colli Berici full of hiking trails, mountain bike and road bike routes and several wine producers.   The hills above were once quarried for the stone utilized in many of Palladio's famous villas.   Located on the road that runs along the base of the hills it is a popular route for local cyclist.

The main center has been cleaned and several new housing projects fill the community at the base of the hills.  The main business and stores are out along the main road at Ponte di Nanto (the Nanto bridge). 

There is a water fountain at the church and in a pinch you can fill up in the square.  Taking the road up from the church you will find the old city of the and a cheese shop specializing in goats cheese.
