COVARA SKI RESORT | TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE REGION

Corvara Ski Resort

Corvara is one of the best ski destinations in Italy. The spectacular Dolomite scenery is like something from a fantasy movie.   The skiing is relaxed on well groomed slopes, and each descent treats you to an exceptional view of sheer cliffs. This is one of the few destinations where we pray for sun; snowfalls would interfere with our scenery-gazing without bringing any real benefit.  There is on off-piste allowed within the resort area and the snowmaking normally ensures reliably good piste skiing.

WHAT IS THE SKIING LIKE IN CORVARA

The scale of the area is some compensation for the lack of challenge; the distances you cover on skis are huge. If you compare the overall dimensions of Corvara's slope network it beats even the famed Trois Vallées in France. There are three main resorts, each with its own slopes branching off from the main circuit.  This is a great location for intermediate skiers.  There are plenty of mountain huts offering good food and wine to enjoy along with the views.

The only drawback to the area in the last few years has been the lack of predictible snowfall.  Also there are only a few expert slops and many of the runs are limited in Vertical distance.  There can also be lots of crowds during the weekend and on the Sella Ronda circuit.  The resort works hard each season to update lifts but the are still a few slow chairs and a couple of horse drawn transfers.
