Like most of the Chiampo valley Nogarole Vicentino was settled by Germanic tribes in the 12th and 14th centuries. It seems that there has been an historical 'legend' of Cimbri populations as early as 101 b.c., due to the pass in the Piccolo Dolomiti this zone became a natural retreat from the feudal fighting of the Germanic princes, at the time. Looking at the placement of the main city you get an idea of this since is sits on one of the higher points along the ridge line of the Chiampo valley.
