WEST RIDGE OF MARMOLADA FERRATE | MARMOLADA MOUNTAINS The Marmolada is known as the 'Queen of the Dolomite's', where you will find the tallest peak of the Dolomite Group.  The Marmolada group is a major destination for hikers, mountaineers, and skiers all year long.  The classic route along the crest of this mountain groups requires good mountaineering skills in comfort working in a higher elevation, the placement of the ferrate has made this mountain peak accessible but caution should be taken, the route over the Marmolada glacier and path to the peak requires good alpine skills and stable weather.  That being said this is perhaps one of the most spectacular routes in the Dolomite National Park. How Do I Get To This Ferrata? Reach Passo Fedaia, the best parking area once you arrive is at the Ciampac Cable Car. Take trail number 602 to reach Rifugio Contrin (2061m). It is recommended to spend the night here and start get an Alpine start on this route due to its length. From Rifugio Contrin take trail number 606 up the valley to Forcella Marmolada from here you move north into a small gully were you should see a slab equipped with pegs.
