The Trentino region is all about mountians and wide valley's, always seperated from "real Italia" the Trentino and Alto-Adige is land reaquired after the Great War. Trentino Alto Adige is two made up of two independent provinces: The Trentino in the southern portion of the region which has been traditionally Italian speaking, and the Alto Adige or Sud Tryol province in the northern portion of the province, which has a richer Austrian connection.

The entire region is made up of mountain ranges of the Central and Eastern Alps plus the Dolomites. The region is bordered by Austria, Veneto, Switzerland, and Lombardia and the capital of the region is Trento.
The Trentino Alto Adige was aquired by the Italian State as part of the accords of WWI. A rich region that has had a tourism tradition since the early 1800's. This can be noted by the facilities and care teh region has put into the tourism industry. There are zones that are very busy with masses of people milling around but there are still areas to escape to that allow you to enjoy nature and the "freedom of the hills".
