The Pre-Alpine chain slopes from Cesen to Segusino and Piave. Between Piave and Brenta rises the massif of Monte Grappa with the peaks of Monfenera, Tomba, Asolone, Pertica, and many others that have been made famous because of the battles fought during World War I. The peak of Grappa can be reached from all sides by numerous mule tracks that date back to the war and - from the plain - by two vehicular roads (the completely paved Generale Cadorna road from Romano Alto and the Generale Giardino road from Semonzo, which is being repaired). On the northern side it is reached by another road from Caupo (Seren del Grappa).
