Bike the Dolomite's of Italy

Legendary Climbs - Bike Tour

Italy's dramatic limestone rooftop, the Dolomite's, offers some of the best mountain roads to bike on, in Europe. The sunny Dolomite's are well developed, and the region's famous for it’s valleys and towns that come alive with après-ski fever each winter.  Lovers of the Alps may miss the lushness that comes with the unpredictable weather northern weather. But the bold limestone pillars of the Dolomite's, flecked with snow over green meadows under a blue sky, offer an exceptional mountain experience.

A hard-fought history has left this part of Italy bi-cultural and bilingual with der emphasis on the Deutsch. Locals speak German first. Many wish they were still Austrian. In the Middle Ages the region faced north as part of the Holy Roman Empire. Later it was firmly in the Austrian Hapsburg realm. After Austria lost World War I, its South Tirol became Italy's Alto Adige. Mussolini did what he could to Italianize the region, including giving each town an Italian name. The government has wooed the German-speaking locals with economic breaks that has made this one of Italy's richest areas. Today, signs and literature in the autonomous province of Süd Tirol/Alto Adige are in both languages.

During the week we ride through the heart of the Dolomite's exploring many of the unknown passes that have been used for great races, for years.  We do ride a few of the most popular routes but this program concentrates on the passes and climbs other companies do not do.  Enjoy great climbs, good food and wine, and fun company during a week of climbing and exploring the National Monument of the World.

Our adventure will start in Venice at Marco Polo airport and finish in the city of Verona.  Along the way we will climb the following passes and mountain roads:

Passo Tre Croci Tre Cima de Laverado Passo Falzerego
Passo Giau Passo Cibiana Passo Duran
Passo Cededa Passo Rolle Passo di Valles
Passo Padoi Passo Fedaia Passo Menghen
Passo Brocon Passo Nigra Passo Pellegrino
