About Vernon McClure

Italiaoutdoors was born from my desire to provide an opportunity for the curious traveler to enjoy, not only an active vacation, but also to experience a "full-immersion" into the cultural and history of the region I call home. Since 1993 I have been living and working as an Outdoor Recreation Professional instructiong and guiding; hiking trips, walking tours, bicycle tours, climbing trips and ski·tours in Italy and throughout Europe. In 2006 I started Italiaoutdoors guide service with the idea to offer programs with a specific focus on guiding and presenting the regions in Northeast Italy: Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli Guilia, and Emilia Romagna.

Taking all the skills and knowledge that I have gained in 20 years of recreation programming and instruction, I wanted to escape the “business” of travel and programming and return to the grass routes of being a guide. So with great passion and enthusiasm, careful design, focused attention on the smallest details, quality accommodations and services, as well as utilizing my skill set as a professional guide, I (Italiaoutdoors) offer distinctive active vacations in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Trips range from classic journeys to destinations that have always been on the "Grand Tour", to unique explorations into small zones of the Tre Veneto region still undiscovered by mass tourism. All programs are well-researched, show the unique local characteristics, an interactions with the Italian people so that you are insured a fun, authentic and memorable experience.

A secondary goal of Italiaoutdoors is to become an information network for travel planning and to collaborate with other like minded independent professionals (similar to myself), who have an invaluable expertise, who work as as instructors/travel guides and who share my same passion and enthusiasm for quality service.
